JANUARY 8 – FEBRUARY 19, Embracing Emergence Christianity. Based on the work of Phyllis Tickle, (Publishers Weekly) we will examine the changing face of Christianity and culture. We will explore what she calls the “great emergence” taking place in the western Church. Each session includes a DVD presentation by Dr. Tickle followed by discussion. Gatherings will be facilitated by Pastor Megan.
FEBRUARY 26-MARCH 25, Lenten Study: “In Psalmist’s Cry, Walter Brueggemann (Old Testament Biblical scholar) explores Psalms as scripts for lament-guides for how to express feelings honestly, in ways normally not permitted or expected within Christian community.” In this five-week study, discover the fullness of God when we allow our lives to become about God healing us and not about us controlling or managing our way through life. Each session includes a DVD presentation by Rev. Dr. Walter Brueggemann followed by discussion. Gatherings will be facilitated by Pastor Megan.
