Spiritual Formation

Spiritual Formation.  We used to call it Christian Education.  We still do.  We still hold the Bible at the center of our faith, always taking it seriously, sometimes questioning it literally.  We still teach our children the faith stories we all grew up learning.  We still believe that the radical teachings of Jesus illuminate our pathway to seek justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God.  [Micah 6: 8]

So why the name change for a church that is joyfully and unapologetically Christian?  We believe that Jesus is the wisdom teacher who shows us how to live in ways that will be pleasing to God.  That belief will never change.   But we are also open to hearing holy wisdom words from other faith practices and spiritual traditions, to learn from them, while still remaining true to the core teachings of Christianity.  Same stories; same Biblical-based faith; same rich and cherished rituals and traditions, repackaged in an inclusive global faith framework.

Our faith is over 2000 years old.  Our thinking is not.
